The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts announced that Girl Named Tom (Pettisville, OH) will perform with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for one night only on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Peristyle. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 15 at 10am.

Girl Named Tom’s sound is built on the heartfelt voice of Bekah Liechty and her two brothers Joshua and Caleb. During their first year as a band, Girl Named Tom drove their old minivan cross country, playing 67 shows in 27 cities. Girl Named Tom made history as the first trio to ever win The Voice.

Today, the Toledo Ballet announced they will host a conversation and Q&A session with renowned ballerina Misty Copeland. The conversation will take place via Zoom hosted by Toledo Ballet Artistic Director Eric Otto. Guests are invited to attend the event being held at Toledo Ballet studios (located at 5327 Monroe St.) on Saturday, August 19 at 5pm. Attendees will be able to participate in the Q&A and enjoy refreshments, a tour of Toledo Ballet studios, and an overview of the upcoming year at Toledo Ballet. This event is open to the public.

Today, the Toledo Symphony and Oliver Hazard announced that they will come together to orchestrate and perform Oliver Hazard’s recently released self-titled album on Friday, October 27 at the Valentine Theatre. This is the first collaboration between Oliver Hazard and TSO. Pre-sale tickets will be available to fans at Oliver Hazard Day this Saturday, August 12. Public sales will begin on Tuesday, August 15. The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced that the alt-rock band Guster will perform with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for one night only on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Peristyle Theatre. Pre-sale tickets for 23/24 season ticket holders and donors are available now by calling the TAPA Box Office at 419.246.8000. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, June 16 at 9am at www.toledosymphony.com.

Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts announces that it will be offering an interactive program of music, dance, and fitness throughout the month of July made possible by a grant from the City of Toledo. TAPA in the Parks will offer Family Fun Days, Adaptive Dance workshops, and paid internships.

Today, The Toledo Symphony announced Justin Rhoades as the recipient of its 2023 Outstanding Music Educator Award. Mr. Rhoades is the band director for Washington Local Schools. This is the fourth consecutive year the TSO has honored current, full-time, K-12 music educators who teach music in public and private schools in the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan region. 

Toledo Ballet announced its 2023 summer programs for students ages 4 and above and all ability levels. Toledo Ballet’s summer offerings include two summer dance intensives for intermediate and advanced students, a themed workshop, dance camps for young dancers ages 4-8, and regularly scheduled classes. The Toledo Symphony is excited to once again announce a special collaboration with Imagination Station to celebrate Music In Our Schools Month. For the second year, during the month of March, various groups of Toledo Symphony musicians, faculty members, and students will present free activities at Imagination Station.
