Jim Gray is an arranger, composer, conductor, orchestrator, and producer in the world of recorded music and live performance. His emergence into prominence has been rapid and his scope of work has covered a multitude of genres and settings, ranging from composing classical chamber music cues for international television shows to conducting orchestras alongside well-known pop/rock groups for audiences of over 16,000 members.

He has conducted recording orchestras around the world – Nashville, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Seattle, London, Budapest, Prague, and Beijing. He has served as arranger, orchestrator and/or conductor on 25 albums which have been nominated for (12 of which have won) a Grammy® award.
Jim’s compositions, arrangements, and orchestrations have been featured on television programs such as NBC’s The Sing-Off, America’s Got Talent, Gordon Ramsey’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, and Big Brother – Australia as well as specials on CMT, Bravo, GAC, PBS, Netflix Series and other networks throughout the world. Two years in a row his music was heard on commercials during the Super Bowl, as well as television commercials for the Atlantis Hotel chain and IBM.
Producing and conducting six concerts in as many years with the Nashville Symphony, Jim helped raise over $800,000 benefiting the Nashville Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization that serves 2500 meals and houses over 750 men, women and children daily, as well as offering help with substance abuse and education. These concerts featured some of the finest local artists who gave of their time, including Restless Heart, Chris Tomlin, Jason Crabb, Tracy Lawrence, Mo Pitney, Ruby Amanfu, Lorrie Morgan and many more.
His orchestra, The Jim Gray Orchestra, is comprised of many of Nashville’s finest studio recording and nation-wide musicians who have been featured on countless thousands of albums and live performances in all varieties of genres.
in 2017, Jim and his Orchestra were honored to participate in providing the music for two events for the 58th Presidential Inauguration: an invitation only candlelight dinner for the President and Vice President and the Liberty Ball on the evening of the inauguration. That event was broadcast worldwide on television and the internet.
In 2020 Jim and his orchestra appear on the album En Español recorded by The Mavericks as well as an upcoming release for Cuban star, Héctor Téllez, Jr.
