Marie Buser

Guest Artist

Marie Buser is a dancer, mover and seeker, inspired by human connection, and the oneness of art and nature. She is guided by the belief that art is love, and that it heals, through the transcendence of barriers.

Originally from upstate New York, Marie began her training at the School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet. Supported by a dance and academic scholarship, she earned her BFA in dance performance at University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music and Dance, where she studied under the mentorship of Paula Weber. During this time, she also performed with the Kansas City Ballet, toured annually with ABB, and supplemented her training at Alonzo King Lines Ballet School.

Upon graduating, she joined Los Angeles’ American Contemporary Ballet as a founding member. She later went on to dance with Ballet Quad Cities, where she spent 7 seasons. She has since performed as a freelance dancer, and as a principal artist with the Albany Berkshire Ballet. Throughout her career, Marie has performed and originated numerous soloist and principal roles, in a range of classical and contemporary styles. A few audience favorites include Rite of Spring, the title role in Firebird, Lucy in Dracula, Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Helena in A Midsummers Night’s Dream, and Dance “Four” Piano, performed alongside Emmanuel Ax. Marie also teaches ballet and yoga and is working towards a comprehensive Pilates certification. She is thrilled to reconnect and collaborate with this talented group of artists and friends during this upcoming residency, and to perform with the Toledo ballet.
