The Toledo Symphony collaborates with Rosary Cathedral to celebrate the restoration of their beloved Skinner Organ. Organist Todd Wilson joins the TSO musicians in two pieces—a triumphal march by Louis Vierne, and Joseph Jongen’s Symphonie Concertante—one of the 20th greatest and most accessible pieces for organ and orchestra. Alain Trudel adds Claude Debussy’s beloved, but rarely-performed Nocturnes, inspired not by the musical tradition of Chopin, but by the ‘nocturne’ paintings of the American painter James Whistler.
