Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts Sponsors Annual Trip to Chautauqua Institution

The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced plans to sponsor its 12th trip to Chautauqua Institution this summer. Chautauqua Institution, located in Chautauqua, New York (250 miles from Toledo) is a world-renowned, non-profit educational center and summer resort that is known for its culture, entertainment, arts, and education. This year’s trip is themed around “New Profiles in Courage” and will take place August 16-20, 2022.

“Spending time in Chautauqua is always inspirational, educational, entertaining, and empowering,” says Ellen Critchley Pittman, TAPA’s Chautauqua Tour Director. “Most people who are currently planning to join CHAT22 have been part of this TAPA/TSO trip at least once in our 11 years of excursions. Their enthusiasm to return to this special community is clear.”

  • Matthew Whitaker, jazz pianist
  • Ryan Busse's Gunfight: My Battle Against the Industry that Radicalized America
  • "Path's to Freedom: Sanctuary Road" opera and concert
  • Girl Named Tom, winner of NBC's The Voice
  • Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, a play by Edward Albee
  • Chip Bergh, President & CEO of Levi Strauss & Co., named one of the "World's Greatest Leaders" by Fortune Magazine
  • Chautauqua Symphony "Wit & Genius"
  • Heritage Lecture Series
  • Art Exhibits

The TAPA-sponsored Chautauqua Travel Package includes transportation on a Bliss Charters Executive Coach, four nights and all meals at the historic Athenaeum Hotel, and four full-day passes to Chautauqua. Cost per person, double occupancy is $1,730. Single rooms for $1,850 are limited and available. The $100 non-refundable deposit is due May 23; final payment is due June 23.
