TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announces a major addition to its 2025-2026 season. Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience, a powerful concert combining Delta Blues, orchestral music, and cinematic storytelling, will take place on Thursday, October 30 at 8PM at The Peristyle.
This announcement coincides with the public release of single tickets for all 2025-2026 TAPA performances, including concerts by the Toledo Symphony, Toledo Ballet, and Toledo Jazz Orchestra. Tickets are available beginning July 29 at artstoledo.com or by calling the TAPA Box Office at 419.246.8000.
An Immersive Evening with a Legendary Voice
Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience invites audiences into a rich musical journey through the cultural heart of the Mississippi Delta. The performance features sweeping orchestral arrangements by Martin Gellner, cinematic visuals, and live performances by top blues musicians associated with Clarksdale, Mississippi’s Ground Zero Blues Club. Mr. Freeman co-founded the club in 2001 to preserve and celebrate authentic Delta Blues music.
This unforgettable evening is more than a concert. It is an immersive journey through sound, culture, and storytelling. Guided by the legendary voice and vision of Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman, the program weaves together a vibrant dialogue of in-person and recorded commentary, including a special pre-concert Q&A session and a live appearance at the top of the performance.
“This program is unlike anything we’ve presented in Toledo,” says Zak Vassar, President & CEO of TAPA. “Morgan Freeman’s voice, combined with the soul of the Delta Blues and the full power of the Toledo Symphony, will create an experience that is at once cinematic, historic, and profoundly human. We are honored to welcome Mr. Freeman and these incredible artists to The Peristyle stage for a night that will stay with us long after its final notes.”
Tickets for Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience start at just $29. Patrons are encouraged to reserve early.
