Status: 34 non-consecutive week contract position 
Compensation: $695/week
Reports To: Artistic Director and Head of Curriculum, Toledo Ballet

Summary

The Wardrobe Supervisor is responsible for managing all wardrobe operations in support of Toledo Ballet company and school productions. This includes oversight of costume preparation, fittings, alterations, maintenance, inventory, budgeting, wardrobe operations during performances, and volunteer coordination. Working collaboratively with Artistic, Production, and School leadership, the Wardrobe Supervisor ensures costumes are performance-ready, production schedules are met, and artists are presented at the highest professional standard.

Key Responsibilities

Budget & Administration

  • Prepare and manage wardrobe budgets.
  • Track expenses and submit invoices/receipts.
  • Maintain inventory, measurements, and production records.

 Costume & Wardrobe Management

  • Coordinate fittings, alterations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Maintain inventories of costumes, shoes, uniforms, accessories, and makeup. 
  • Order and track wardrobe supplies.
  • Enforce wardrobe/costume policies. 
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Production Operations

  • Prepare and organize costumes for rehearsals and performances.
  • Supervise wardrobe during load-in, performances, and load-out.
  • Coordinate wardrobe volunteer crews and dressing rooms. 
  • Maintain costume plots and documentation.

 Costume Development

  • Collaborate on designs for new productions.
  • Manage rentals and production timelines.
  • Oversee in-house costume construction as necessary.

 Leadership & Collaboration

  • Recruit and supervise wardrobe volunteers.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment aligned with organizational values. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional wardrobe or costume experience (dance preferred)
  • Strong garment construction and alteration skills
  • Experience in creating and maintaining budgets and tracking inventory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple productions and deadlines
  • Experience working with ITASE preferred
  • Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and performances 

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 40 pounds; move costume racks and storage containers; perform standing, walking, bending, and reaching associated with theatrical wardrobe work.
