Welcome to TJYO!


The Toledo Jazz Youth Orchestra launches January 2026 — and audition applications are now open!

Come be a part of a full 20-piece big band featuring the most talented young musicians across Northwest Ohio. You can expect to dig into the music of the great masters, grow in your understanding of America's Art Form - JAZZ, have the opportunity to work with members of the Toledo Jazz Orchestra, and of course, have a lot of FUN in the process.

Led by Dr. Dave Kosmyna, rehearsals will be held weekly at the Toledo Center for Live Arts, with a Spring Concert, not-to-be-missed.

Audition Details

  • Audition Date: January 14, 2026
  • Audition Times: 6:30-8:00pm
  • Audition Registration Closes: January 7, 2026
  • Eligibility: All students who participate in their school music program and play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or rhythm section instruments are eligible to audition.

Essential Information

  • Rehearsal Dates: Wednesdays, January 28 - April 22, 2026 
  • Time: 6:30-8:30pm
  • Location: Toledo Center for Live Arts, 4747 Heatherdowns Blvd.
  • Tuition: $250. Students who are enrolled in other Live Arts Toledo Education programs will receive a $50 discount on tuition.
